National ACE and Grubhub Partner to Support AAPI-Owned Restaurants Through AAPISTRONG Restaurant Fund

In an effort to bolster independent Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI)-owned restaurants, the National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship (National ACE) has announced the launch of the AAPISTRONG Restaurant Fund in collaboration with Grubhub. The fund, made possible by the Grubhub Community Fund, aims to provide financial support for AAPI restaurateurs looking to expand and enhance their businesses.

With the ongoing challenges faced by the restaurant industry, the AAPISTRONG Restaurant Fund seeks to empower AAPI-owned restaurants to overcome economic hurdles and elevate their enterprises. The financial aid can be directed towards a variety of growth initiatives, including infrastructure improvements, technology integration, employee benefits, and operational efficiencies.

Chiling Tong, President and CEO of National ACE, highlights the resilience of AAPI-owned restaurants and emphasizes the significance of the grant in facilitating their future growth. The partnership between National ACE and Grubhub underscores the commitment to AAPI-owned businesses and the community they serve.

Dave Tovar, Senior Vice President of Communications & Government Relations at Grubhub, emphasizes the company’s dedication to the AAPI restaurant grant program. This program, which has already aided over 270 AAPI-owned restaurants across the country, aligns with Grubhub’s mission to empower local restaurants and their positive impact on communities.

Eligible independent AAPI-owned restaurants across the United States can apply for grants ranging from $15,000 to a grand prize of $50,000. The grand prize winners will be announced during the National ACE’s #AAPISTRONG Annual Conference, scheduled for October 12-13, 2023, in Las Vegas. The grants are designed to support businesses that demonstrate financial need, community impact, and potential for growth.

The AAPISTRONG Restaurant Fund will be accepting grant applications from August 14 to August 28, 2023, or until they reach 2,000 applicants, whichever comes first. To be eligible for the grant, AAPI-owned restaurants must fulfill specific criteria, including being majority-owned by Asian American/Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian individuals, operating within the United States, demonstrating financial need, and showcasing community impact.

The AAPISTRONG Restaurant Fund, a collaboration between National ACE and Grubhub, presents a valuable opportunity for AAPI-owned restaurants to receive financial support for expansion and development. With a strong commitment to the AAPI business community, this initiative aims to strengthen local economies and foster community growth.
